Improved Monitoring in Support of Policies to Tackle Inequalities in Smoking

The project presents evidence for the major socio-economic inequalities in mortality and morbidity in all European countries. Many tobacco-control measures can be effective among lower socio-economic groups, including raising taxes, banning smoking at the workplace and offering help with smoking cessation. The project aims to reduce smoking among disadvantaged groups by developing recommendations for monitoring tobacco control policies in the EU.
